Step: 1
Choose your school
When you start, you’ll select your state, school, dorm, and room number in the FilterTool. We only show items approved by your housing office, so you don’t need to worry about renting something that isn’t allowed. If your school has limits (like one fridge per room), the tool will flag those rules for you.Â
Step: 2
Build your setup
Once your room details are entered, the Setup Tool will display all of the products that are available and approved for your dorm. These usually include:
- Lofts: Create more floor space and flexibility in a small room.
- Fridges, Freezers and Microwaves: Compact, energy-efficient appliances that meet dorm standards.
- Futons: Extra seating and comfort, designed to fit neatly under lofts where allowed.
We’ll also show add-ons for increased safety and comfort, like ladders, safety rails, and rugs (where approved).
From there, you can select the items you want and add them to your cart. Because the Setup Tool only shows approved products, you can check out with confidence.
Step: 3
Delivery and setup
Your order confirmation will include school-specific delivery details. Delivery and setup can work differently depending on the campus:
- Lofts: At some schools, our team installs lofts in your room before you arrive. At others, we provide an easy-to-assemble kit with everything included. Every loft meets housing safety standards and comes with required parts, such as safety rails.Â
- Appliances: Compact fridge and microwave combos are delivered directly to your dorm room. At some schools, our combo units are available for pick-up during move-in a convenient spot on campus.Â
- Futons: Where approved, futons are delivered alongside your other items so everything is ready to use after opening.
- Add-ons: Accessories like ladders are rented and delivered with your loft. Rugs, where offered, are a one-time purchase and will be delivered with your order.
Moving in early? If you arrive before the school’s scheduled delivery dates, your items may be brought in after you’ve moved in. We’ll keep you updated by email, so you know exactly what to expect.Â
Do you have to carry or install anything? If your school uses kits for lofts, assembly can be done by one or two people with common tools, and instructions are provided. Our metal Futons require easy assembly as well.
Step: 4
Enjoy your space
With your loft, futon, and appliances in place, your dorm room instantly becomes more comfortable and functional. Use the extra space under your loft for studying, storage, or seating. Keep snacks and drinks close by in your fridge and add personal touches to make the room feel like your own.Â
If you need help during the year, our support team is available by phone and email. We also work with on-site program managers at many schools, so there’s always someone who understands your campus and can assist.Â
Step: 5
Easy returns
At the end of the academic year, our team collects your rentals directly from your dorm room at certain schools. If we do not collect directly from your room, you’ll receive clear instructions and reminders with pickup dates for your school. There’s no hauling to a collection site, no storage to arrange, and no heavy lifting required. We handle it all.Â
